Let's Do This

WORKSHOPS

Workshops feature hands-on instruction using trees you or I provide. You’ll learn how to wire, repot, carve and maintain your trees going forward. Typically workshop instruction is geared for beginners to intermediate-level enthusiasts, and typically lasts 3-4 hours.
We also offer advanced workshops that include instruction on power-tool carving and other advanced techniques.
You can attend classes once or on an ongoing monthly basis. All classes are from 3 to 5 students.
Fee varies based on final number of students.
Students provide their own tools and materials unless we agree otherwise.
For out-of-town workshops (more than 2 hours away from San Mateo, California), fee based upon number of students, plus travel, lodging and meals. Traveling workshops are limited to 5 students and cannot exceed 6 hours.

PRIVATE WORKSHOPS

Private, one-on-one workshops involve working on bonsai material together, or you working while I provide instruction and guidance. These workshops can include general maintenance, initial styling, refining an existing bonsai, power-tool carving, or tree show preparation.
Fees determined by scope of project,  plus travel and materials.

TREE STYLING AND MAINTENANCE

I am available for styling and maintenance work on any healthy bonsai plant. The initial assessment includes planning and goal-setting, at which time we will discuss fees based upon the work we agree upon. I can perform the work at your location or at my personal studio. Maintenance schedules can also be discussed for ongoing care.

LIVE CLUB DEMOS

I can provide live demonstrations for club meetings and shows. Recently, I did a restyling demonstration for the Dai Ichi Bonsai Kai located in Gardena, California. Please click on the link below to see how I transformed an Alberta Spruce.
